Good grief, I'm sad to hear that. It puts things in a different
perspective. Had you mentioned it here before? If so, I missed it.

My dear chap, how incredibly sad - and how incredibly brave you are.

I've faced a fair amount of adversity in life, but nothing like you're
facing and I don't think I'd have your courage if I had to.

Think positive, and remember many people have defied the odds that you
have against you.

I'm afraid I don't have any deep religious convictions, but if I did I
would be praying that the gods look kindly upon you.

If you can't be cured, does that mean that you will be on chemo for the
rest of your life? If so, I hope modern chemo is less unpleasant than it
was in the past... Best wishes for everything.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that. One thing I'd say is to make sure you'll
still retain an acceptable quality of life while undergoing treatment to extend
it. There's no delicate way of saying it but I wouldn't want to hang around
for another eight months or two years if it will mean living with severe
discomfort.

Day a bit of a nightmare. Seven hours mostly hanging around. In the end they didn't do it. My blood pressue was too high. Due to the streas it skyrocketed. White coat symdrome. They've prescribed me some vallium and lorezepam and I must try again Monday. The pharrmacy rang the docctor and said the dose was too high so it was halved. If my next few posts sound confused and incoherent blame it on the downers

Some proress. Not ideal. After loads of vallium the bp was low enough so eventually they injected the chemo. I musr wait for the reAa life extender. I loahe hospitals. Still I might make by three score years and ten.

Maybe you should move to a country with more Bank Holidays so the cancer
will take more time off?

Seriously, if people having heart attacks or giving birth can be treated
365 days a year, I don't see why people having chemo can't be. It's not
exactly stuff that can wait, is it. Is there really no-one who can give
an injection available on a bank holiday? </futile rant>

Ah yes.... NHS management.

I think they do care about one thing; their pay packets. That is the only
reason they work for the NHS. They couldn’t get a job anywhere else.

I start chemo tomorrow. Without amything I think I'd have only a few weeks. With the chemo drug alone possibley 8 months. With the addition of a new experimental sacoma drug there may be the hope of hanging on for 2 more years.
Everything is crossed for you here.

As quickly as two years tend to pass at this time of life, it beats the
hell out of eight months. Very best wishes.

Very sorry to hear this. Fingers crossed the chemo + new drug work even
better than that.

James
