at last a "scholarly" article on aircraft pollution trails....

of course the question is does lots of cloud warm the long-term
environment or cool it! (cloud seeded by aircraft contrails) I reckon it
warms it... clear skies in winter usually mean cold weather.... cloudy
skies warmer...

some guy was on mike graham saying how much co2 could be saved if people
got high speed trains from easterly western europe to scotland for the
air trip across atlantic and it was large number amount... (though co2
less effect on climate than clouds seeded by contrails??? water vapour
biggest greenhouse gas!) mike graham was poo-pooing it! (yeah the time
element eh! a cleanish boat trip across the atlantic maybe even better,
depending on grade of ship-oil.... and speed of trip...)

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-7995501/Making-flights-
travel-2-000ft-higher-slash-climate-impact-contrails-60-cent.html

Forcing a tiny percentage of flights to change their cruising altitude by
2,000ft could slash the climate impact of plane contrails by almost 60
per cent, a study reveals.

Majority of troublesome plane-induced clouds are caused by just 2.2%of
flights
These are formed when contrails merge and spread into cirrus natural
clouds
Making 1.7% of flights travel 2,000 feet higher or lower limits contrail
formation
This in turn stops unique clouds from forming and reduces warming affect
of contrails by 59.3%

I mean I think it might be biggest irony that aircraft contrails are
preventing what was the climate scare of the 70's.... impending ice
age....

which the ice cores show happen quite regularly and +/- a few thousand
years we are due one about now LOL

Battlefield 2142 eh! awesome!
