It seems likely to be untrue, but it's not confirmed either way.

Biden's uncle died after a crash in Papua New Guinea in May 1944, about a year
and a half after Biden was born. Undoubtedly Biden's parents or other older
relatives passed on what may well be a bit of family folklore that the uncle was
eaten by cannibals. Absolutely there were cannibals in New Guinea at that time;
the practice wasn't banned until the 1950s, when Australia took over the
administration of the islands.

Biden may be repeating a false bit of family folklore, but he isn't lying unless
he knows the story is only folklore. He grew up believing the story to be true,
and he possibly still does.

Biden's tale or yarn pales in comparison the the thousands of bald-faced lies
Trump told — bullshit that Trump *knew* to be false. "Trump would lie about the
time of day, just for the practice" — Trump friend (actually, only an
acquaintance, because Trump has no friends).

bills and saw what Republicans' so-called "tax cut" had cost them and they voted against
him and his party for the next two election cycles.

Then, having packed the court with anti abortion conservatives, the Republicans threw away
the women's vote by finally getting Roe overturned. The GOP has lost almost every
election since.

The "red wave" of November '22 turned into a fizzle due largely to Dobbs and the extremism
of Trump aligned candidates and that slim majority has eroded to almost nothing. As of
today's date, the GOP has effectively a margin of error of only 2 votes in the House.
Worse, they've gained a reputation for obstructionism and failure to govern that is
unparalleled in modern American political history. Even by themselves.

You think the voters won't notice this? So, what has Biden got going against him, really?

Inflation.

That's pretty much it, and it's a legacy of three waves of government giveaways, two of
them under Trump and the GOP, in reaction to Covid; a planetary event that caused

growing faster that anywhere else save China and India both of which have seen their own
growth rates halved by Covid while China wrestles with a real estate bust that could
cripple their economy.

Aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan remains popular and judging by last week's votes in the
House are more popular than border security.

The economy is stronger that it's been in over half a century.

Many voters are astute enough to realize that Biden's infrastructure legislation was a
long term plan that will take the next several years to play out.

For over forty years Republicans have proven that "debt doesn't matter" (Dick Cheney) by
borrowing and spending us to the edge of oblivion. So the Democrats can hardly be blamed
for their deficit spending now, can they?

You can argue and whine and flame and make up all sorts of distortions, and so can the
left, but the voters are the ones who have to live with the consequences.

No matter how bad you tell voters Biden is, he has one great advantage over the
Republicans.

He's not Donald Trump.

This is the kind of debate the left has been lowered to.

Right wing media isn't going to tell you about his accomplishments because they don't want
you to know. The right demonizes everything that isn't hardline conservative, even
moderate views. But that doesn't mean the voters don't see what's going on.
That cost you the House in 2018 and the Senate in 2020. The public looked at their tax
bills and saw what Republicans' so-called "tax cut" had cost them and they voted against
him and his party for the next two election cycles.
Then, having packed the court with anti abortion conservatives, the Republicans threw away
the women's vote by finally getting Roe overturned. The GOP has lost almost every
election since.
The "red wave" of November '22 turned into a fizzle due largely to Dobbs and the extremism
of Trump aligned candidates and that slim majority has eroded to almost nothing. As of
today's date, the GOP has effectively a margin of error of only 2 votes in the House.
Worse, they've gained a reputation for obstructionism and failure to govern that is
unparalleled in modern American political history. Even by themselves.
You think the voters won't notice this? So, what has Biden got going against him, really?
Inflation.
That's pretty much it, and it's a legacy of three waves of government giveaways, two of
them under Trump and the GOP, in reaction to Covid; a planetary event that caused
inflation in every corner of the globe, most of it worse than ours. The US economy is
growing faster that anywhere else save China and India both of which have seen their own
growth rates halved by Covid while China wrestles with a real estate bust that could
cripple their economy.
Aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan remains popular and judging by last week's votes in the
House are more popular than border security.
The economy is stronger that it's been in over half a century.
Many voters are astute enough to realize that Biden's infrastructure legislation was a
long term plan that will take the next several years to play out.
For over forty years Republicans have proven that "debt doesn't matter" (Dick Cheney) by
borrowing and spending us to the edge of oblivion. So the Democrats can hardly be blamed
for their deficit spending now, can they?
